I have been having issues with stuttering playing 1080p movies... I would put on hardware acceleration which resulted in white colors flicking like a strobe light and would still get stuttering issues.... So I decided to reformat my HTPC and just install the min stuff..
So I reinstalled
Windows 7 64 bit
Windows Security Suite <--- free at MS website
Windows update fixes
XBMC
nothing else....
Everything is now working flawless, 1080p movies play perfect, hardware acceleration works perfect.... very happy
My previous setup I had d/led some codecs to get MKV files to play through Windows Media Player and had Norton Anti-Virus Suite installed... I'm guessing something with the codecs or Norton was screwing up XBMC...
Anyways thought I would mention it in case anyone else was having similar problems...
