Hi all,
I've been scouring the forums and everything I find on the topic seems to be very dated and just leads me around in circles. I'd really appreciate if someone could point me in the direction of an IR Receiver and possibly remote (I'd much prefer to use my DirecTV RC64R remote if possible).
I recently received Windows 7 Vista XP Media Center MCE PC Remote Control but I can't get any of the DirecTV codes to play nice, nor eventghost to play nice as it apparently just sends keyclicks. Also, I can't seem to get the infamous "Green Button" to boot XBMC either after trying various reg hacks, etc.
At the end of the day, I'd like my remote to be able to do the following:
The remote I have, although not my DirecTV one, seems to adequately do #2, 3, 4 on that list but I can't seem to figure out the first or last (I imagine the last is not possible as they're really just keypresses being sent).
Any updated help on the topic would be much appreciated, to clarify, I'm not totally against a new remote by any means, I'd just like to keep them limited, if someone can recommend me a good remote to replace my DirecTV one (that will still handle controlling the DirecTV box) that would be great too.
Thanks for any help on the topic.

- Launch XBMC
- Control XBMC
- Put the HTPC to sleep
- Wake the HTPC
- Preferably have some scripted keys I can use for various other tasks
