Somebody has to be able to come up with something. It's the only thing keeping me from buying all the stuff to make it.

Today I wanted to start gathering equipment for my DIY ambilight setup with XBMC, I was convinced this was already possible with the master branch.

I hope we get to see this soon in XBMC!

+1 from me

Just for the case, if it find its way into xbmc:

Some DIY-Projects have a slight delay.

Maybe the delay could be fixed, if xbmc would delay both
the sound and image with a certain value to compensate the delay.

This could lead to a perfect sync.

Edit: btw, found this xbmc-plugin (some kind of ambilight-controlling), but not sure what it does exactly.
Edit2: Alright, it refers to this (one of those thousands ambilight-clones Smile )
.

I looked into that lightpack thing. the zip file for the xbmc plugin is broken, but im not sure if that is to integrate lightpack or just used to choose profiles. does anyone know if this will work in fullscreen for windows 7? i want to try this out but I dont want to waste my time if it will only work in ubuntu.

does anyone know if someone is looking into a plugin? i would make it myself, but unfortunately my programming skills dont meet the requirements.

Boblight works OK on Windows 7 but you have to disable AERO (transparency effects), they cause blinking for some reason. Im also running XBMC running XBMC with "Use a fullscreen Window rather than true Fullscreen" option and Boblight works miracles! Rolleyes

I would love to see this kind of thing too, but it would need some sort of networking support for all us AppleTV2 users....Big Grin

I just ordered the stuff for a DIY kit on ebay, and I would love to have some kind of plugin.

If it would help I would be willing to donate 30$ to anyone who can make a plugin, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I've been following this one myself: http://www.rgb-styles.com/ibelight/

They're saying they're shipping in a "a few weeks" on their blog. Kind of pricey though.
