I just installed XBMC on my main HTPC. I would like to replace MC7 with XBMC but XBMC takes a long time to start. For about 2 or 3 minutes it will display the splash screen with the silver XBMC logo, then finally go into the program.

What can I do to get XBMC to load faster?

I can't see any obvious error messages, but the log shows a three minute gap between firing up JSON and a CD Analysis report (the very next entry). Try removing the CD-ROM disk from the drive and see if that helps. Other than that everything looks fine to me (everything seems to start in a timely manner).

I get this on W7 quite often and it seems to be something to do with files and/or folders in Windows. I'll start XBMC and nothing happens until I open My Computer and explore a few folders (their icons don't appear until Windows has done something at which point XBMC kicks to life).
