My XBMC will crash after trying to play the 1st video when you boot up the htpc.

After the crash if you terminate the program and start it up again, it'll work as normal.

Can you enable debug logging from System settings, System, Debugging then restart XBMC and try again.

I note there's an error:

ERROR: convert_checked failed from UTF-8 to UTF-16LE, errno=42

Though I don't know what this error means. Hopefully with debug logging on we'll get a bit more info.

I can't see any smoking gun, but I note that it crashes immediately after some DXVA messages. If you disable hardware acceleration does it still crash on first play? If so can you post a debug log again.

well wouldn't explain why it crashes on the 1st xbmc load + play and not the 2nd.
