I saw this announcement today from Urthecast, they are going to have live streaming HD video of earth from space:

It would be awesome to be able to watch this on the XBMC. Is this possible? What I would really like would be a screensaver mode.

Bah.. watch the promo video, the spaceship launches June 28th but the cameras won't be setup until spring 2012

I just got sent a link about Urthecast. I think they're entering their beta - not sure. There's alway nasa tv - i've seen the odd streaming video from the IIS.
