Not sure which forum this really belongs in but I'll try here.
By testing out the AudioEngine builds I have navigation sounds working again on the ATV. And with this I'm back with the same problem with one of my receivers that I had back with XBMC on the XBox as well:
When I chose digital out (Optical/coax), the navigation sounds only show up if I rapidly navigate through the UI. The *first* click doesn't make it through. It's like the receiver goes to sleep whenever there's more than one second pause, and then it needs a signal to wake up again.
This only happens on my 9 year old Sony receiver which only has Optical inputs (no HDMI).
On the XBox, I was able to get around this problem by choosing "Output stereo to all speaker" but that no longer seems to be an option in ATV ?
Is there some sort of "keepalive" that XBMC could send which would mitigate this problem ?
