I have opened a ticket for this but figured I would get it out there on thelast 2 nightlys xbmc hangs when playing a archived video and I also noticed it doesn't auto generate a thumb in files view last build it worked was the 23rd

You need to wait at least a day before bumping any thread.
If you know how to fix it they will accept patches
But my advice is to wait patiently for it to be fixed or go back
to using the last supported build 10.1 Dharma

Playing from rar did not work for me for a couple of days or so, but I believe a commit today have fixed it. At least it is working for me now.
