[LIVE] Zotac Mag Won't Suspend/Hibernate
#1
Hey guys, ive searched the forums, and Google, and the Ubuntu forums for weeks, but i cant seem to find the answers, and the stuff ive found, and tried, doesn't fix the problem.

I have an Zotac mag, running XBMC 10.1 on Ubuntu 9.10, with Aeon MQ2 2.8.1

When i try to hit Suspend/Hibernate, either by the Shuttup menu, or, the power button on my remote, it goes to a black screen with a cross in the middle, and then back to the main screen again. The black screen with cross would only be up for not even half a second.

I thought it might be a problem reguarding trying to Suspend/Hibernate via the remote, so, maybe a usb problem, but, seeing i cant even Suspend/Hibernate via the menu, it might be an xbmc or ubuntu problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have attached a pastebin of my debug log. Thanks guys!!

Can you suspend via the following command?

Code:
pm-suspend

If not, please post the output of the following command:

Code:
cat /var/log/pm-suspend.log

yep, it can suspend with that command. Though now im not sure how to wake it back up.

So, i guess that means its an xbmc problem? or maybe xbmc doesnt have the permissions, as i did the command as root...

I've attached my log anyways.

if your running 9.10 resume on suspend has been a long ago fix using XCI script.

Google for that.

i think i might of even used xci to setup my zotac mag originally, great script! Thanks for the work you put into it Wink

Ive done the following;

Quote:sudo wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/xci/file...h/download

sudo chmod +x xci.sh; sudo ./xci.sh

But, it seems to be an old script, and wants to install xbmc 9.11, which wouldnt help.

I see there is a PPA, but i cant find the documentation to install from PPA. Any tips? thank you

Edit: Turns out because i had a previous xci.sh already on my Zotac Mag, it was using an old script, i deleted it, and ran the code below, and its now updating everything, lets see if it helps.

Quote:wget http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4325533/XCI/Beta/xci.sh

chmod +x xci.sh; sudo ./xci.sh

Running the XCI script, and then setting up the remote in the script didnt work. Exact same problem. I wasnt having trouble on resume on suspend, i couldnt even suspend it in xbmc, using either remote, or, via the home screen.

Though running pm-suspend in terminal, as root, would suspend.

Could be a permissions problem maybe. Any ideas? Thanks

the script is self updating heres link to latest it will update to latest version on first run. It maybe your permissions are messed.

As a suggestion for logs try using a pastebin instead of posting everything on thread.
