Rips crashing XBMC
#1
I posted this to the wrong area originally. Maybe someone following here may be able to help out more.

I have been using XBMC on my ATV2 for a short period of time. I have ripped a few of my DVDs and put them in my XBMC library, but I must not have the right format because every one that I ripped has caused XBMC to crash(shut down). I have been using handbrake to rip my DVDs. I have tried the ATV2 and Normal settings for ripping the DVDs. My PC can play the files just fine, but they will not play using XBMC. Can anyone help with this?

Someone on the other list asked for the media info. If it is helpful, here it is:

Never dump logs/debug info directly into the forum.
I've added a pastebin link for you.

Mediainfo is not enough, we need an xbmc.log pastebin'd as well:

I suspect tho, you are running 4.3 on an old build that doesn't have hardware decoding (VideoToolbox support)

But the xbmc.log file will say for sure.

See if "Allow Hardware Acceleration (Videotoolbox)" is selected in
System->Settings->Video->Playback. If it is selected (which it was by default in my setup with ATV2) DESELECT it (blue dot OFF). This solved a similar problem with my ATV2 and a movie ripped by HandBrake which would play on my MAC mini, but would abort XBMC.

I don't know why, but when I deselected the option the problem went away.

Best of luck
