Hi

Downloaded 10.1 the other day when i got my new htpc (acer revo 100)

Have 10.0 running smoothly on an old dell lappy...

Medias is iso files on a NAS - the old can run them without issues...

found other thread, that indicated this might be a skin issue (confluence) but tried the fix posted there - and changed to other skins aswell, no luck... tried all sort of different settings, without luck...

as you might notice i got, and still getting a lot of these

any clues to what, where and how i should get this to run smoothly?

Check the "Allow hardware acceleration" setting in System settings, Video, Playback. IIUC the Neo K325 is quite a low power CPU so you'll probably need the acceleration enabled for smooth playback.

If you still have problems enable debug logging from System settings, System, Debugging and pop the whole log on pastebin.com. Don't post it here!

Will Check the Acceleration when i get home...

The funny thing, it can run 25 fps sometimes, i have just not found a pattern yet (sometimes it works right after i start xbmc and go and play the movie straight away, sometimes after i stop and resume - but most times it dosnt work)

According to the "O" key press - the FPS when its low its arround 16-17... the cpu usage is floats between 50-60% - and that number have been confirmed by a RDP session to the box, showing task manager (actually, the task manager shows a little less usage) - so i dont think its cpu...

But as i said, i will check the HW thing when i get home - and post a complete debug log.

Hi..

Check the hw acceleration, and it was on - all options was infact in - shader was set to auto...

this time, it took a few tries to get the the low fps...

when running smoothly - according to the "O" screen - CPU was below 20%...

but i noticed that when things started to go wrong, even the GUI would take up lots of CPU...

BTW - Last night - i tried to copy the 10.0 installation from my lappy to the acer - both "program files" and "user data" - it seems 10.0 have the same issue on my acer, so im guessing its HW related at some point....

will try to get the lastest beta drivers for the audio and video cards - and give them a try...

anything i can try?

Now i started xbmc again...

and even without starting a movie - the GUI was sluggish and unresponsive - fps counter was under 10 all the time...

this is the shortest log i was able to produce....

rebooted the acer box, started xbmc, started a iso movie from local drive, showed the movie menu - everything was still good - stopped the movie - and out into the gui - and bamm - fps was down to 6...

Ok, seems like it was the driver for the wireless nic...

Everything seems to be running smoothly again...
