Hi there.
Ive ran xbmc for a nice amount of time on my normal pc now, but i want to move on to a HTPC now. The only questions is, what kind of Hardware is needed
i've read some topics about starter HTPC's already but didn't find something what i think is "good" yet.
I need it to play full HD (1080P) TV
maybe a blue-ray reader
SSD for OS
2-4GB Ram
no netflix or we streaming needed.
As CPU and GPU i have no idea what to use
my normal pc has an I7 and geforce GTS250 (i guess this is way to overpowered for HTPC)
Another question is, how do most of you watch your videos?
Since most only put in 1 SSD
I have 1.5TB movies right now.
Would it be possible to hook up an external HDD or would the USB port be to slow?
Or do u all use a NAS or anything familiar.
I'm open for any suggestions
last but not least.
Do you advice Windows or Linux?
I was thinking of running Ubuntu + XBMC on the HTPC (if possible) because linux consumes less resources than windows
and uuh, where would be a good place to get these parts? I live in Belgium (Europe)
