Hi guys,

These are my requirements:
1) I want to be able to watch 1080p (2D) encodes.
2) I want to be able to watch TV
3) I want to be able to record TV

I have read eskro's excellent guide, and I think that this box is close to what i need:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=103967

I was not able to find all the exact parts, but I found the following hardware (from a danish store). The product descriptions are in english, so I think it's still possible to comment on them:

1x http://ow.ly/5LUtn
1x http://ow.ly/5LUtL
2x http://ow.ly/5LUu5
1x http://ow.ly/5LUug

Are there any parts I should replace before ordering?

Thanks alot! :-)

looks pretty good,
I see you have a remote but do you have a MCE IR receiver? A remote wont control XBMC without some way to capture the signals form the remote.

For the TV tuner, you might consider switching to a Hauppauge Brand. TV tuners is what they do and their included software is highly likely to be MUCH better than whatever comes with the ASUS card. Not to mention ASUS warranties are not worth the paper they are printed on.

that G620 HTPC whjsdk will suit your needs!
Ifs a strong CPU thats for sure!

Everything looks good in your build,,

that Silverstone case can accept up to 4 x 80mm fans,,,
if anything, u can always add quiet fans later on,,,
example: http://ow.ly/1uWowT

also, like outatouch0 said,
if u can find an Hauppauge Branded TvTuner card,
i think it'd be safer...
many vouch for Hauppauge in general!

That remote comes with an IR receiver?
Cuz i dont think so,,,

Now, since you'll record HDTV,
i think your source will be in 1080i maximum,,,
For interlaced content,
i suggest again, the ASUS Low Profile GT430 128-bit --> http://ow.ly/1uWonh

You'll use WIndows 7?

What will be your OS drive?

Overall, Looks sweet!!

Thanks for the suggestions.

To sum up, I should do the following:

Replace: http://ow.ly/5LUtL With this: http://ow.ly/1uWonh
Add: http://ow.ly/1uWowT - I forgot a fan! :-)
Replace: http://ow.ly/5LUug With this: http://ow.ly/5M4HK
Replace: http://ow.ly/5LUtn With this: http://ow.ly/5M4Jl

Will all the parts work in the motherboard?
Should I go for 8 GB ram instead of 4 GB ram?

I'm going to run Windows 7 on the box.

Thanks again!

Cant talk for the Remote or TvTuner card but,
The rest is perfect!

as stated in my HTPC guide:
Quote:Which USB IR Remote Kits Work out of the Box with Linux and Windows?
[Remote Kit] MediaGate GP-IR02BK ($19 + $0)
[Remote Kit] AVS Gear GP-IR02BK ($24 + $0)
[Remote Kit] HP Media Center 5187-4592 ($24 + $0)

4GB RAM is good enough...
