Audio disappears from menus after some idle time
#1
Greetings,

I've been experiencing this issue since the 10.1 release all the way until now. It's still present in yesterday's GIT version. The problem is that after some time during which XBMC is idle (i.e. overnight - my box is up 24/7), menu sounds stop working. When I browse to any movie and watch it, sound works fine again. If I don't do that, the only thing that restores sound is restarting XBMC. The restart itself is also weird, as the hard disk is crunched intensively for around 30 seconds (while the image is frozen with the "Exit" menu item on screen), after which the relaunch is swift.

This problem is no big deal, of course, but it's irritating, especially that today XBMC hung during the restart and I had to "kill -9" it. Has a similar thing happened to any of you? My hardware is Asrock A330ION with an Intel HDA Audio soundcard and ALSA 1.0.23.

Sorry for not searching hard enough in the first place. Yet in my setup there are no SMB shares used, nor does XBMC hang when trying to play a movie - it's just the menu sounds that disappear. For the record, I've tried all the suggestions mentioned in the latter thread to no avail.
