720p lagging in XBMC, not with any other player.
#1
Hi,

When I try to play any video with a resolution of 720p, it lags systematically in a jerking motion (with scrambled pixels) from the first second. SD files play without any problems and VLC handles 1080p easily.

Is this a known issue? I have the DXV2 activated and tried without too. The processor uses about 20 % of capasity, which I guess is pretty low.

My processor overclocks to 2.8 GHz if needed.

Windows 7, 64-bit
Intel® Core™ i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz
4 GB RAM

Hope anyone can help.

Here is the log reposted in pastebin. With your CPU I don't think it should matter, but are you just using the built in Intel GPU? http://pastebin.com/YHiRWfnV

How do I know if I'm using my GPU only? If I uncheck DXV2, it shouldn't use GPU at all, should it?

The log says:

NOTICE: Found screen: Generic PnP Monitor on Intel® HD Graphics Family, adapter 0.

So XBMC is using the Intel GPU. There are known problems with the Intel GPU and DXVA, though your videos should play fine with DXVA disabled, and your CPU should be plenty fast enough to play 720p.

Incidentally, that isn't a debug log. For future reference you need to go to System settings, System, Debugging and enabled the Debug logging option.
