So finally, there's no platform that works under Linux now? Laugh

But yeah, a steal indeed! I guess the trick would be to just choose carefully the driver.

edit - Interesting reading. This make me think that I should block the updates on my laptop (which has a 9600M card) to the 260* driver.

I have this motherboard, E3400 (undervolted), OCZ Onyx 32GB SSD.
Linux Mint 10 x32.
XBMC set to auto start, boots up ready to go in 12 to 14 seconds. I'm happy with the results. No problems to report, system or video.
Largest file I have is Avatar - 1080, will stream 720 off the internet problem free, 1080 is a little bit of a challenge, but I think it's my internet connection holding me back. I would consider myself middle of the road user.

I have NVIDIA 260.19.06 that was automatically updated by Linux Mint and shows it to be the current version.

Based on the information provided, what benefit(s) am I missing by not upgrading to a current version? I'm very happy with what I have, but now you have me scratching my head.

My new rule of thumb is "When it works, don't upgrade anything". Just found that in a Chinese cracker Wink

Unless your performance is choppy. Otherwise, you're not missing anything.

edit - Btw, the package for the driver is "nvidia-current", but it doesn't mean it is "current" relative to Nvidia. I'm also on Mint 10 KDE and my version is also 260.19.06. I've just blocked this package to this version as of this morning.
