Automatic changes for output? 720p@50hz and 1080p@24hz?

Hi,

i'm running XBMC via a Yamaha AVR on a Philips TV and a Mitsubishi Projector.
Unfortunatelly the HDMI cable to the Projector is quite long and does not work with 1080p@50hz and 1080p@60hz, but works fine with 1080p@24p.
When i now set the output to 24hz, Full HD content works flawless. But when playing 720p stuff, it always judders (of course, as every 2nd frame is missing).

Any idea how to tell XBMC to output all with 720p@60hz, and only 1080p content in 24p?

I think what you want is something difficult. XBMC can not control the output frequency by file format.

Actually it can by turning on the adjust refreshrate to match video setting, but it won't change the resolution, just the refreshrate.

I'm running xbmc on a RaspberryPi (via raspbmc), and it play back fine in 1080p, but menu stuff just works more flawless in 720p. Sadly I also only have 24Hz at 1080p, so I would also like the possibility to have for instance only 1080p at playback and then 720p in menus, or 50 and 60Hz in 720p as default and then if 24Hx change to 1080p...

Any suggestions??
