i expand my desktop to my toshiba lcd tv with a dvi->hdmi adapter and select the tv as display for xbmc. because i want to use my pc while a movie is playing!

whats going wrong?

XBMC runs on a Windows 7 with Intel q6600 4gb ram and Geforce 9800GTX+

I don't think your GPU is up to the task of outputting two independent displays simultaneously. Check the 'O' keyboard command when you're playing videos and notice the GPU activity... if your CPU is up to it, switch to software decoding and see how that fares..

Off the cuff.... I'd suggest you buy another computer for true multi-tasking. XBMC isn't a multi-media display program at the moment, although in windowed mode you can do some amazing tricks.

it is not only the movie. the xmbc's menu has this problem too.

CPU ~20% with software rendering. 24 fps.

... ok now i see this problem ist only on HD movies Sad

Bottle necks like this can have you pulling hairs... Some likely candidates, hard drive access time, background tasks taking priority, GPU caching of images, transfer of nas shares are things to look closely at. This happen in all skins?

Do a debug and see what is consuming the systems time.
