i don't think that the current screensavers do what a screensaver should do.

i think a screensaver should protect the tv (and the cpu from overheating), so an extremely simple screensaver should do (e.g. scrolling text messages, simple lines/images bouncing on the edges etc.)

i currently use asteroids which is by far closer to my idea of a screensaver.

so, i think that people involved in screensaver producing, should keep that in mind.

i was under the impression that a 'screen saver' was for protecting (saving) the screen from burn-ins. if you want to protect your cpu from overheating then set your shutdown idle timeout. otherwise, save your screen and enjoy some very nice screen savers!

as for the current screen savers... i think the pong, and asteroids screensavers should be perfect for your tastes!

each to thier own... i personally like the colorful, graphically superior, randomly generated patterns in my screensavers!
