Hi,

What could be the cause of movies not being displayed in fullscreen?

XBMC runs perfectly fullscreen on my plasma but when I launch a movie the screen becomes smaller, I get black bars all around, larger on the sides then on the top, let's say 20% on the side and 5% top and bottom.

I tested with the official xbmc build, the nighlty and the audio hd build.

I tested also full screen vs full screen windows, and with or without overscan on the plasma.

For reference I'll post my setup here:

This is the setup:

XBMC official release 10.1 and XBMC HD-Audio build 11.x
CPU: AMD 1090T
GFX: 2x ATI 6870 in Crossfire
MEM: 8GB Corsair Dominator
HDD: 240GB Raid-0 SSD Vertex2
OS: Win7 Ultimate X64
TV: Panasonc 50VT20 connected through Onkyo 607 amp with HDMI

File I play:

MKV created myself with MakeMkv from original Blu-Ray discs
Ex: Avatar 42GB or Crank 37GB

PS: MPC-HC plays perfectly full screen, as any other software

As I recall, in the Catalyst Control Center you set the screen scaling separately for each refresh rate. If you have the "adjust refresh rate to match video" setting enabled the refresh rate, and hence the scaling, will change whenever a video plays.

I changed the overscan to 0 for each of the resolutions and it works perfectly now.

I think I'm finally there, a full xbmc build that handles all possible formats and media
