Recently my ION box died, so I decided to use mac mini as a htpc.

I need some help regarding sound. Mac mini is 2.26 model (2008 or 2009 not sure) with nvidia 9400.

- Is sound through HDMI supported by xbmc on this mini?
- which snow leopad version do you suggest me to use (will not consider lion until smb works or xbmc afp arrives)

HDMI sound is not supported, you'll have to use either a digital cable or an analog one to drive the sound.

I run 10.6.8 with crustal hd and without and works fine in my 2008 Core2duo mac mini

HDMI sound from a DP or DVI to HDMI adapter started showing up around 2010, I think. One year after my laptop was bought. Nuts.
