I've been able to playback ISO videos on ATV2 via SMB. Video playback is ok but all I hear is like a white type noise instead of movie audio. Currently running the 20110904-a2098db nightly. Any ideas greatly apprecciated.

Did you activate the 16 bit audio option in the ATV2 settings (outside of XBMC)? This is a common weapon against static noise ...
