New HTPC-Experiences. Or: DXVA vs DXVA2 ?
#1
Hi,

in finishes building my new HT / Gaming-PC. I finally ended up with an Z68 board, harboring a Sandy Bridge 2600K and a AMD 6970 graphics card.

My first idea was to dual boot Win 7 and openELEC, but I couldn't get openELEC to work (maybe the hardware is "to new").

Hence, I now use XBMC @ Win 7.

My question: Why can`t I choose "DXVA2" from the settings menu? I only see "DXVA". I'm using the Eden Nightly from 8th of September and the latest Catalyst drivers.

Why is there no DXVA2 option in my settings?

Cheers, good weekend to all,

As far as XBMC is concerned the terms "DXVA" and "DXVA2" are used interchangably and mean the same thing. In fact XBMC doesn't support DXVA1.

This is interesting, since I could swear that I saw a screenshot stating "DXVA2" in the settings. I think it was in one of the "HowTo" downloads from the user "bluray".
