Stuttering, never makes it past ~ 3 seconds

Hey guys.
I've been using XBMC for quite a while, on both Ubuntu and now Windows Server 2008 R2.

I have a Revo1600, 2gig ram, Ion LE graphics, Atom CPU on Gigabit lan.

It worked fine on ubuntu, and worked fine on Windows Server till a few months ago. One random day, it stopped working with any HD files (720 and up). SD works fine and plays instantly. HD will not play...It will play the first 3 seconds, but it lags/jumps back to the beginning (so, plays 1, 2, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 1, 1, 2, 1, 2, 3.... and so on).
It just wont play! This is with MKV, AVI, MP4, etc. There is no buffering, and it seems to not be hardware lag.
It is connected through samba on a win7 box, and also through network shares. Outside of XBMC, the files play fine over the network. VLC plays without a hitch.

Please help!

Audio problem? You get this sort of behaviour if XBMC can't open the audio device. There's some interaction between the audio and video in the DirectX system that causes this.

Is it possible the SD and HD videos have different format audio, and this is causing the problem?

A debug log should show if it is a problem with the audio. See http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Debug_log for how to get at the debug log.

Here is my log:

you seem to be correct about the audio...what to do...will a clean install fix it?

Update:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=102746 >>>this is a fix! what a strange bug. I will worry about it more later when I actually have a DD receiver, I suppose.
