ARM server
#1
Hello,

I'm looking for feedback from people using an ARM board for their server, as i plan to change my dual core Intel server soon.
My needs are (kind of special ^^) :

- linux compatible
- a pci slot for tv tuner
- a pci slot for pci-sata card
- 4 sata connection
- power efficient

It must be powerful enough so it can run : vdr, subsonic, samba, nfs, sabnzb and ssh.

Do you think it exists or must i wait a little more for Haswell device ?

Bibi

Check boundary Devices, if they have something that can tick of most of your requirements.

going to be hard pressed to find arm hw with pci/pic-e slots. you are better off using intel atom based hw.

You may also consider an HP N40L MicroServer. Really nice (and cheap) but no pci slots: 1 pci-e 16x and 1 pci-e 1x, half height.

Just watch your different link. Well i guess i will have to wait a little more... and see what Intel/AMD will propose in 2013.
