Quiet down Zotac ZBOX ND-22 fan noise
#1
I recently purchased said box and I am happy with the overal performance of the system (old sata hdd and 1x4g ram): smooth 1080p 24p playback, smooth menus and transitions.
Only the noise of the fan I wish would be quieter. Is there any way to adjust the fan speed?

"The fan's minimum and maximum duty cycle (its speed, essentially) can also be configured via the BIOS ..."

Thanks! I have read this review before I purchased the unit. Must have overread that passage:/ Do you know which settings would be considered safe but reduce the fan noise?

I'd say a safe limit is 70°C. There is more headroom, but you've got two chips under the same heatsink.

It might be worth checking which bios you have. I think it is only after the last update that the bios has fan control

Set fan to 50%. Perfect balance IMHO.

And this is why I decided to make "fanless" my priority no 1 when choosing HTPC... :p

Anyhow, hope you guys get it fixed.
