I have just installed the latest version of xbmc. I have added all my media, videos, pictures and music loaded. when i try to stream this media onto my Yamaha rx a3010 is can play music but not see pictures or video. The are listed but they are grey out as if they are not available. I have checked rights and I have tried but from both internal drives and USB drives. The PC is running vista. I can play the movies on the pc. Any ideas?

You have to have a computer running XBMC directly connected to your system.

I'm not familiar with the Yamaha rx a3010. Are you trying to use it as a uPnP client to stream media from a PC running XBMC? If so then it ought to work, though note that XBMC doesn't stream pictures over uPnP, only music and video.
Note that XBMC only streams media that have been scanned into the library so you need to check the videos have been scanned into the library. Also note that XBMC won't transcode video, so your receiver will only be able to play video if it's a format that it can understand.
