I know this is silly but it is driving me insane ...

You know when you hit the pause button, on the screen it says PAUSED - i use to have it where it said it in big bold letters across the screen which looked super cool -

I had to re-build my pc - used all the same software versions - but now the PAUSED just shows up in small letters in a box above the OSD.

I know this is silly but does anyone know where that option is?

hmmz I would like to know that as well, but more the other way around. I dont want the big PAUSED.

Hit enter while playing video. Now you get the OSD. Go to settings and it should say some where show big pause text.
