Just some question about sound setup

PC
Gigabyte 1156 board
i3 550
on board HD graphics HDMI to Yamaha RX-V571 to 40" 120Hz LCD 1080p

Now I have CCCP codex pack installed and FFDshow set to DTS True Dolby and so on and XBMC set to 5.1 also. Is this the best way to do it? Most my movies are DTS and the receiver shows DTS or Dolby Digital. Music shows as PCM and other movies that are 2.1. I haven't played a Blue Ray yet as I haven t bought a drive yet but it sounds great. mostly concerned about the codex set up.

Also if I buy a BR drive will it play DTS-HD the way it is?

XBMC doesn't need codec packs. All built in, just for future reference. Everything else looks good, but note that XBMC can't play Blu Ray disks.

very true, not natively tho,,,
there's the MakeMKV plugin (linux & windows) that apparently works
for playing Bluray discs within XBMC,,,
here's a video on it --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUXXR0eT73M
but how successful it is i dont know,,

Also, if bluray could elaborate a bit,
i know he's using the Pre-Eden version of XBMC and,
i recall him saying he can play index.BDMV file right from a bd disc
within XBMC,,,

correct bluray??

the pre-eden guides in my signature can natively playback bd iso/m2ts/mkv and bd index.bdmv directly fron bd-rom w/ dts-hd/truehd too.

i watched transformers: dark of the moon (it's simply the best truehd 7.1 sound) using pre-eden directly from bd-rom yesterday and i watched thor (it's simply the best dts-hd 7.1 sound) using pre-eden directly from bd-rom a couple weeks ago. the audyssey 5.1 with two front height speakers surround sound system is excellent for these two movies.

it was playback using my asrock e350m1 mobo with gt430 gpu htpc!

I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!
