Please ask in the appropriate support forum, e.g. http://forum.xbmc.org/forumdisplay.php?fid=59 for Windows, and you need to say what make and model of IR receiver you're using.

The Harmony just emulates whatever handset goes with your IR receiver, so the important decision is the choice of the IR receiver.

Generally I recommend eHome receivers like the Microsoft or HP (see http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Remote_Contr...RC_remotes for a list of known eHome remotes). However the eHome receivers tend to have a long delay when used with a harmony handset i.e. when you press a button on the handset there's a delay before the receiver responds. On the more expensive Harmony models the delay can be adjusted, but on the cheaper models like te 300i it cannot.

An alternative is to use a cheap and cheerful receiver like the one from the VRC-1100 (see http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=Remote_Contr...s#VRC-1100). These are widely available on eBay, though you'll probably have to buy the handset/receiver combination as you'll be lucky to find just the receiver.

I have a Harmony 300i and I use it with the VRC-1100 receiver. I'm pretty happy with it, though the eHome receivers are better and I'd use an eHome receiver if it wasn't for the delay.
