10.1 " Cache Full " ........ trying to find the " Cache " so I can empty it ?
#1
Hi all

Dont mean to sound like a total " newbie " ...... but ........ I have looked everywhere for this and just keep hitting walls / cryptic messages / posts .... and I dont have much haor left !?!?

I am getting - fairly regularly - " Cache Full " messages when buffering.

I am running Win 7 X64 + 10.1 both installed on my non-partitioned C:\ Drive

Can someone *please * tell me:-

=> where is the " Cache " folder ?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Machine-Sanctum

Just to check.

I gather you mean:-

=> C:\Users\<my_user_name>\<my_pc_name>\OurPC\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\cache ( ? )

because if I go to the next-directory-down [ userdata ] there is no "cache" folder.

Thanks again in advance,
Ben

Here's the wiki page about the userdata folder. the "chache" folder should be there somewhere.

Although i don't know for sure if it's a problem with diskspace. You can try emptying the folder and see if that work.

Not sure what the problem is. Just pursuing a different angle of thought for you. How much RAM and or Video memory do you have? Are you sure this is not refering to the need for a larger pagefile?

I believe its referring to the cache used when buffering (streaming) media to ensure smooth playback, rather than a disk issue. I'm not sure why it would be full though. Usually you have problems cos its empty

@ben - can you turn on debug logging and post a copy of your xbmc.log to pastebin.com with a link here. The wiki has instructions on how to do this. This log will tell you if you are having trouble receiving the data. Can you also explain what you are trying to play when you get the error message. Are you playing local content, is it streaming on the net, do you get it for HD content but is SD content OK etc?
