Music Scan Exclude and Display Issues
#1
Hi,
so far I'm loving XBMC live and despite still having a long list of problems with it, it is still (by far) the bet media player I have ever owned. Anyway, on to today's problems.

I noticed from the update progress bar at the top of the screen that the music updates seem to spend long time searching through a few iTunes-related directories (e.g. thumbnails) that I don't need it to look in at all but which take a long time due to the sheer number of files in these directories (it also fills up the debug logs with info. relating to these directories which makes picking out other entires more difficult). To exclude a subdirectory from a search for videos is easy, just add the directory in question and say to "exclude directory from searches" and bob is your uncle. This option does not exist for music directories, so how can I exclude it?

And relating to this, I don't want to see the music updates at the top but I can't find how to turn them off: turning it on or off for video-related updates is easily found in settings, but not for music - have I missed something obvious?

Many thanks.

See http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Adv...3Caudio.3E for exclude from scan/listing. In order get rid of the music scan dialog on top go to music settings - library and check the "Hide progress of library updates" option.

Ah OK thanks. It's a pity this can't be done via the front-end, perhaps one for future updates.

There is no such option on my XBMC Live 10.1 setup (with Transparency or Confluence): is this option one from an older version? (see http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Music_Settings)
