I have decided to sell my apple tv 2 and go for a htpc solution. I am looking for some suggestions. I want a fanless model as i cant stand the sound of fans. I have looked at the shuttle xs35gt v2. i would like intel atom d525, 2gb ram, hdmi out, nvidia ion 2 and fanless. I would like it to be able to hand my 10GB Mkv's aswell, bbc iplayer in hd, icefilms 720p films and run xbmc quickly. Thanks

If your not really fussed about using Windows then try Openelec - its a linux XBMC build and works very well with Nvidia Ion HTPC's. The Atom proccessor is fine but I would try avoid very heavy skins.

You'll have a fast booting and low resource machine.

i tried out openelec on my laptop, so much quicker than through windows. , I will probably go for a dualboot, so i can still get slingplayer and sky go and netflix
