[release] gbtv
#46
I'm using the 0.0.4 version. Some of the folders/links seem to be "broken". It also seems to vary with time. If one link doesn't work, it then seems to "break" links that would have worked previously unless I restart XBMC. I can sometimes get certain videos to play, but other times they will give an error. I do have the plus membership and can access every type of video through the website. Any help?

Edit: Now after playing around with it, I can't get it to play anything at all. Even if I restart xbmc it just gives errors or says that the file couldn't play. This is true even for the regular gb tv show. Everything plays fine through a browser. I tried re-installing the plugin over top of the current one. Totally confused....

Edit: After restarting the computer (why would it matter?) it seems to be mostly working now, except for contents of a few folders (Mercury theater, Beck U, Specials) for which it gives an error when trying to play. Once getting an error, no links in any other folder will work and this requires rebooting windows. Hope this info helps someone.

Edit: Still seems to be very tempermental. I thought I had it figured out, but it seems like the plugin can crash when trying to play any type of video and it occurs randomly. Once it crashes, the computer must be rebooted to try again. No idea why....

Edit (last one): It seems like if I keep trying, I can sometimes get the script to start working again without rebooting the computer.

This plugin is broken!

I played around with the code for about 3 hours, but didn't get anywhere. I'm not a programmer, so I can only read and compare with what's in the page source on gbtv.com.

I think it has something to do with the sizes of flash files GBTV is serving up now, or perhaps something in the final version of Eden.

Guess I'm going to have to break–down and buy a Roku. ;(

I have only been having problems with the live feeds, they run for about 1 or 2 minutes then freeze. This just started happening in the past few weeks, they used to work fine when the plugin was released. Shows already archived are still working for me. Can anybody look into this please? Huh

Thanks bunches to MPtechnologygroup (et al) for this and their many efforts!

How will this accomodate the HD video 'requirements' of newly branded as Blaze TV [for Plus subscribers]:

Code:
http://www.video.theblaze.com/faq/index.jsp?content=system_requirements

http://video.theblaze.com/

I run XBMC atop Ubuntu 12.04 and another atop Mint 13 maya.

I don't know anything besides basic HTML, but I managed to read and edit the code, and add the new GBTV shows (Real News from The Blaze & Independence USA). Also, I did a little house keeping, and moved the older series down a menu level to 'More Shows, Specials, & Documentaries'.

— Download this updated file: http://cl.ly/0i2I050B152C2h2L3P2Y/gbtv.py
— SSH/SFTP into your Apple TV
— Place the downloaded file in: /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC/addons/plugin.video.gbtv

Enjoy! Wink

Can this be updated to include the new show Wilkow? I go into *Todays Archived shows* and some of the episodes are there but not todays.

Divingmule was very kind to put the original code together for this addon. If I remember correctly, Divingmule created the MLBtv addon and I had heard that the MLBtv website was similar to GBTV's website. Mptechgroup then later maintained a version based off of Divingmule's version. I thought I remember reading somewhere that mptechgroup had quit maintaining it due to lack of available time. I have not reached out to either of them to see if they would be interested. I am sure that they would appreciate a thank you for their previous efforts. Maybe that would spur their interests again. The one thing going for the BlazeTV and the old GBTV addon is that it doesn't seem like they are making a lot of changes on how they are delivering their content, at least in relationship to the addon. I say that because some of mptechgroup's version still plays content, just not all of it. So maintaining might not be to difficult. But...that is coming from someone with no knowledge of programming Smile

I'll look into it and see what I can come up with. I don't have a subscription so may need some help testing.
