Laggy NAS after house move. Help!
#1
I moved house last week. In the new house the internet is currently a bit flaky. Sometimes it'll go at a 1Mb/s, other times 20Kb/s.

I have a Zbox (PC) that connects to a NAS drive, which as well as storing the videos themselves, also stores the library in MySQL.

Since moving, it can take up to 10 seconds to list my shows. I'm assuming that the lag is due to a bad internet connection, but why would that be since both the NAS and the Zbox are local devices.

Can a bad internet connection cause problems between two local devices?

Thanks in advance.

Would not of thought so, try changing the cat 5 cable or are they shared by wireless?

Thanks. I'll try the cable, but I can't think that's it.

Man, these network problems are always painful to resolve.
