hi,

i'm trying to install/boot OpenELEC on my ATV using this guide and i get an error

" cannot open '/boot/KERNEL' : stream error "

every time..

i already tried the openelec forum but no working solution.

did anyone here maybe have the same problem? any idea how to fix this?

i'm running atv1 with crystalHD and ssd 16gb.

Try Crystalbuntu. It's a lot faster than OpenELEC and installation is a lot easier. You won't regret it.

I have two ATV1s and wouldn't consider running anything but Crystalbuntu.

If you want something that works and lets you spend your time actually enjoying/making the most out of your ATV1, look no further!
