Hi,
found a lot of topics...but no solution so far.
I purchased an appletv2 last month 4.3 (2557) on it.
I jailbreaked with SeasonPass.
Installed nitoTV and xbmc 10.0-9.
TV is connected via HDMI.
Reciever is connected via Optical Cable. (Reciever is DTS capable, no AC3)
I can not connect ATV2 via HDMI to reciever because it has no HDMI input nor output...
I have tried different setups in ATV2 and XBMC...
ATV:
digital sound: ON
Audio Output: Auto/16bit (tried both)
HDMI: AUTO (no other option available)
XBMC:
Output: 5.1
Reciever capable: DTS
Reciever capable: AC3
Downmix: 2.0 yes/no (tried both)
If I put AC3 on, there is only some kind of cracking noise...
So removed AC3 option...sound ok but only PCM 2.0.
I tried with different movies coded MKV and AAC 5.1, AC3 5.1...
I tried 5.1 Podcasts, they also play only in PCM 2.0
When I start ATV2 and watch a trailer from iTunes store on ATV2 there is also no 5.1 sound.
Do I have to rent a movie to try out 5.1...I have the feeling there will still be no 5.1 sound...
Is this the only way to try it out?
