ATV2 choppy video question
#1
Hi there,

Been using the ATV2 with XBMC for a while and never had any problems. Downloaded an NFL game last night and was hoping to watch it today but getting awfully choppy video playback, audio is good.

Here's the information on the file:
File Size ------- 2.22gb
Length ---------- 2:32:14
Resolution ------ 976x544
Container ------- mkv
Video Codec ----- x264
Audio Codec ----- ac3
Frame Rate ------ 30

If I disable hardware acceleration in XBMC, the choppiness gets a lot better, but it's still there.

Is this a matter of my Atv2 not having the juice to play this format with XBMC? Any other way for me to watch this format without having to convert it?

Using the latest nightly.

Have you gone through everything in the FAQ re: buffering?

So ... Sync to display, here are alot of contradictions.

I had this on "sync to audio" due to people telling me that my buffering issues would get better. So I have had this on a while, and suffering from buffering.

In the FAQ now, I can see that this should definately be turned off ...

Can anyone please explain?

The moral of the story is: Read the FAQ first then ask questions.

Well, the FAQ did not contain this information at the time. Hence, the question.

Good general tip though ...
