XBMC Picture and Sound jerky after 10 minutes:
#1
Hello,

I have Windows 7 with 4GB RAM, 32 Bit Windows with 325GB HD.

When I play movie or show, starting is okay but after 10 to 15 min. after voice and picture getting jerky and sound stutter or very scratchy.

I already updated with new nightlies and I don't know how or what type of XBMC do I have to fine tune to get rid of this problem.

Thanks.

Debug log please. Enable debug logging from System settings, System, Debugging, and restart XBMC then wait a minute or two for all the startup tasks to finish. Play a suitable test video until it starts getting jerky then stop the video and close XBMC.

Open the debug log by pressing Windows-R and in the Run dialog type:

"%appdata%\xbmc\xbmc.log"

(including the quotes). Click OK and the log should open in Notepad. Copy and paste the log into http://pastebin.com/ and post the link it gives you here.

Of course this could be some issue with nightlies however this type of symptom sounds like it could also be HEAT. Check to make sure all of your fans are working, inside of your htpc is free from dust build up, etc.
My first HTPC build
My UnRaid Server
Kingston rebates and ASUS warranties are WORTHLESS FRAUDS

You're streaming a film from megaupload.com. The problem is most likely to be the megaupload server. Try downloading the file to your hard disk using Internet explorer, then play it from the hard disk.

You don't download add-ons from there. Use the built-in add-on browser inside XBMC and it will select the correct directory.

Hi Ned,

Could you please explain in details how do I select ATV2 XBMC built-in-add-on browser inside XBMC?

If you have FAQ tutorials then please post that link and this will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

In XBMC go to System settings, Add-ons, Get Add-ons, XBMC.org Add-ons. Then you'll see a list of the available add-ons organised by type.
