Hi All.

I have noticed a reduction in performance on my ATV2s while seeking forward or backwards (clicking the remote forward or backward buttons). Although not a massive issue, it’s becoming a little irritating. This degradation seems to have been introduced after 20111108-b499c47. After trying a few sequential versions, I have observed the following:

• xbmc-20111108-b499c47 - fast seeking, no buffering
  
• xbmc-20111109-6922560 - after seek video resume fast, slight pause in audio - no buffering
  
• xbmc-20111110-26cc297 - as above
  
• xbmc-20111112-a2f830e - as above
  
• xbmc-20111113-993e6d2 (and all versions post) - approx 4sec buffering after seek
  

ATV2 version is (pre iOS 5) latest and greatest and my setup has remained static during all testing, therefore issues are not related to changes in network, protocol etc.

between the 8th and the 9th (start of the "issue") only things changed were:

Also, did you try a build after the 16th ? as a filecache issue was fixed then

Weird indeed. That said, the behaviour after 20111108-b499c47 could be described as the introduction of a 0.5 second silence after seeking.

The real user facing impact, however, is the buffering introduced in 20111113-993e6d2. I can confirm this is still the case with 20111119-f8d48da.

I seem to be having this issue as well. I basically can't fast forward or rewind anything on my ATV2 using the latest nightly build. The picture totally freezes up and sometimes the audio comes out of the freeze but the picture remains frozen, bit frustrating to not have a FF or RW functionality

Hi Hpnas.

I have no issues with freezing after seeking on 20111119-f8d48da. Only buffering as previously described.
