Screen Tears Mac Book Pro
#1
Hi guys,

I have been having a slight issue with my XBMC setup.

For films there is no issue but when watching tv shows i see screen tears at the top of the screen (although they can also appear mid screen).

I have played around with all the playback options, i have the same issue when using my Mac screen as when i am using my TV.

My Mac
Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 (11C74)

I am using a nightly build of XBMC but had the same issues on Dhrama. I am using the reFocus skin but have also had a similar issues with other skins.

I am likely to be upgrading to a Mac Mini for XMBC but don't want to have a similar issue.

Does anyone know how to solve my current problem or if i am likely to see the same on a new setup using a mac?

Why did you disable vsync ? The default on XBMC for Mac is enabled.

Without having xmbc in front of me, i assume this is turned off in the playback settings menu.

I was attempting to resolve the issue and played around with these options.

I think if i had that enabled then screen tears would appear more random and not so much concentrated to the top of the screen.

setting -> system -> video.

turn it on, leave it on. any video playback visual issues are unrelated to this setting.
