Network drive
#1
Hey

I have this problem.

When I start my mediacenter, it loads windows, and XBMC in the startup. However when XBMC starts, it can't update the movies ect., since it can't find the network drive to my NAS. However, if I close XBMC and open the network drive in windows, close it again, and start XBMC it works fine. How can I avoid this issue?

Thanks

had the same problem, never really had a workaround, i think it's the network still initialising in windows. there must be some way to put a delay on when it searches for network drives. i just installed openelec and now i don't have to deal with windows Big Grin

Windows sometimes takes a few seconds to reconnect all the network drives.

For this reason (amongst others) I don't recommend using network drive letters for sources. When you're adding a source use the "Add network location" option and feed in the server and share name. If you look in sources.xml this will create a source that looks like smb://server/share/otherdirs/etc/. This avoids problems with network drives.
