I am sorry if this is already answered, but I have searched for the past two days and can't find the answer. I need to know if there is a way to changes the date used for recently added. I recently moved to a new NAS,and implemented MySQL. All of my movies after the scan for new content, are treated as recently added. Can I make it so it uses the modified date to determine which files are recently added?

No you cant dates are not used in the database
If you want to rebuild your recently added then the best option is to refresh the titles you want listed as recently added obviously you need to do this in reverse order
This is how I did mine when I had to rebuild my library cant say its much fun but it works
