I set my ATV2 as a media center PC in the harmony software. Then choose the harmony remote as an input device in XBMC.

Memphiz Wrote:wondering if i add this as default behaviour ... atm up down is mapped to volume control ... but this is only usable when no passthrough is active ... wonder which users i would annoy with such a default change then...

+1 please.
Most of us don't have fancy remotes to make it usable.

Sorry guys ... i reverted that change in master. It influences to many non atv2 plattforms where users are already used to the volumeup/down mapping which is default since ever (e.x. all mac users with appleremote). I won't take the responsibility for this because it WILL definitly spam our forums with issue reports.

And i think its pretty easy to add that custom keymap as stated in the wiki:

http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=XBM...s_for_ATV2

which links to the alternate keymap for atv2 here:

http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Joy...l_for_ATV2

Which has the 10 mins jump in it.

It does work on in the ATV2 main menu (frontrow). It also has the added benefit of putting the ATV2 to sleep when you switch activities or shut down.

try repairing permissions on it by typing in (while in SSH)

Code:
chown -R mobile:mobile /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC/userdata

thanks... that didn't fix it..

not sure what i did wrong but my xml file was no good.. (i just opened up text edit with my mac and copied the remote in and saved as xml.. but xbmc didn't like the file even after the permissions though)

i ended up taking an xml file from xbmc, opening it and editing the contents and renamed at all seems to work now..
