ATV2 4.3 reboots continiously
#1
Hi,
I have purchased my second ATV 2 and jailbroke it with seas0pass on 4.3 untethered. The jailbrake went smoothly.
I installed XBMC based on the wiki instructions to Eden Beta 1.
I installed nito and updatebegone and ran XBMC to start loading my library.

Then the ATV 2 restarted for no reason at all.
I waited for it to boot and i ran XBMC again only for it to crash again..

The third time it crashed so fast i wasn't able to run XBMC.
After that it went on a continious reboot loop.

I left it out of power for 1 hour or so and open it again ..
I was able to use xbmc for about 5 mins, then all happened again ...

I have jailbraked the ATV2 two times.. and every time I have almost the same results..
I installed firmware 4.4.4 without jailbreak and it doesn't show such problems (i tested it for 30 mins or so).

I have links for the syslog in 3 parts cause it is a bit long and well as for the xbmc.log

Please find some time to give me any advise as to what might be the problem..

Many Thanks!!

i have the same problem.

Needed to jailbreak again.

After jailbreak averything ok. Then i went to NitoTV and did the Update all and got the same problem again.

The problem is somehow connected to NitoTV "update all".

Lost all plugins in the XBMC folder...

Now i need to do everything again...

just jailbreak again and if you dont want to install NitoTV for now and still get XBMC usage:
Code:
apt-get install org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2

you will get the XBMC Eden.

Sad
Same here since today.
Happy atv2 xbmc user for some months now.. Installed 11. b1 yesterday and today when I quit xbmc it didn't return to the springboard.
Instead it stayed on the main xbmc screen with no response what so ever.
WHen clicking the remote the led blinks but that's it.
Pulled the plug as a reboot through remote didn't work and when I entered the plug again.. well... crap!
Got the Apple logo and then..... black screen with off and on going tv signal and a blinking light.. that;s it.

Reinstalled firmware and jailbrake.. went fine but after 2 updates from NitoTV shit started again with what looked like a corrupt hdmi signal and then the whole procedure with the reboot and on off signal started again.

On my second reinstall of firmware jailbrake and xbmc without any updates this time.. all went fine.
Till........ I pressed the xxxx exit button in XBMC. Stuck on the main XBMC menu again with no response.

Guess I'm off to my third attempt.. but before I do.. What is causing it? How to prevent it from EVER happening again? Who else has got into this?

Thx in advance!

Thought so to the first time.. but after that I didn't touch the update button and it still went nuts.
BTW.. funny thing: Got 2 ATV2's with xbmc installed.. it's just one that is out of control

I re-jailbroke it and did the following:

apt-get update
apt-get -f install (<-- cause it asked me to)
apt-get upgrade
reboot

During that time i could see XBMC on the ATV screen

After the reboot ... it dissapeared..
i then tried

apt-get install org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2

cause maybe that was the problem,, but no success..
I still get the same problem (reboots by itself)

I am going to try to jailbreak and just hit
apt-get install org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2
and see how it goes

Same problem for me.

I have ios 4.3 with seas0nPass installed. I also had nitoTV installed.

Once I upgraded to eden beta, constant reboots.

I found the solution!

At least one of this packages have errors (installed by 'apt-get upgrade'):

uikittools_1.1.3_iphoneos-arm.deb
cydia_1.1.3_iphoneos-arm.deb
mobilesubstrate_0.9.3993_iphoneos-arm.deb

I have (re-)installed the previous versions:

dpkg -i uikittools_1.1.0_iphoneos-arm.deb
dpkg -i cydia_1.1.1_iphoneos-arm.deb
dpkg -i mobilesubstrate_0.9.3901_iphoneos-arm.deb

After a reboot my atv2 is running again!

Good to know,
So how the whole procedure should go, starting right after the jailbreak?

this also worked for me. wasted many hours today rejailbreaking and reinstalling after the ATV2 would get stuck in a crash-loop upon reboot.
