XBMC was built with the following configuration:

Code:
./configure --enable-vdpau --enable-vaapi --enable-crystalhd --disable-pulse --enable-libbluray --prefix=/usr/local/xbmc

i think its xvba, try using xvba 0.7.8 instead of 8 or install ubuntu 11.10 it has xvba in the ubuntu stable ppa so it will install with a simple apt-get install xvba1 command, wish someone told me this months ago Smile
