Noob with a few question on budget HTPC
#1
So I'm putting together the beginnings of a budget HTPC... I'm just trying to get up and running as cheap as possible, then add as my budget allows... I'm not even going to buy an Optical drive at this point... I want to buy a graphics card and a TV Tuner, but that will also be down the line... I know there are better components than what I've listed, but hopefully I'm doing well on bang for my buck...

BIOSTAR A880G+ AM3 AMD 880G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - ($60)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6813138283

PHENOM II X4 840 Boxed Processor - ($60)
http://www.microcenter.com/single_produc...id=0371961

Corsair 8 GB 1333mhz PC3-10666 240-pin Dual Channel DDR3 Memory Kit - ($35)
http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-1333mhz-PC...B0055LGG3Y

I have a 1.5TB WD Caviar Green that is already half full, I can just stick it in the case, right?

Moneual MonCaso SONAMU G100 Black - ($30)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...-_-na-_-na
This is the case I want to use, but word is, the included PSU is terrible! So I would like to buy this case and swap it's power supply with the one below... Can I do this?

OMG......... The case just sold out as I was typing this Sad....... Theoretically, would I have been able to swap it's PSU with the Corsair linked below?

CORSAIR Builder Series CX430 V2 430W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS Cert - ($40 - 10 Mail-In = $30 + 15 Gift = $15)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...llFullInfo

I think this PSU was too big for that case anyway..... Also not sure if it would have jived with the case's weird "off the grid" psu plug set up....

Any suggestions on a Case and PSU? I need the PSU and case to be a combined $80 or less.....

Thanks......

If you want quality case and PSU, you have to pay a little for it. The PSU included in the case usually is not good quality, unless you get Silverstone case with PSU in it. It's very good stuff, but it is pricey.

If OP want to go this route, this one might be the best choice then- APEX DM-318 Black Steel Micro ATX.
