I'm very new to the HTPC scene but I've been scouring the internet trying to figure out whats best for me. What I'm looking for is to create an HTPC that will allow me to watch south park studios, NBC, ABC, TBS, etc content on my TV. I've seen that there are some plugins for this for XBMC but I'm not sure of the reliability. I have not purchased and hardware yet so nothing is off limits. I'm also open to OS suggestions but would prefer to use Linux. Any suggestions?

I've read through them but none of them seem to address streaming internet content with the exception of netflix or hulu. Can I assume these same machines can also do ABC, NBC, south park studios, etc? Is it possible at all to stream these internet sights from a linux box?
