[AppleTV2] I can not play any content
#1
Hello,

I jailbreaked my apple tv2 (ios 4.4.4) with seas0npass and installed XBMC. XBMC can see my iMac and my shared folders, but when I click to play any movie, it won't play.
Most of the time I get the notification: Can not play the file, check the log file.
Sometimes the notification says: Can not connect to remote server.
I have no idea what the problem is.

Check here the log file: http://pastebin.com/sc30Ztz8

I hope anyone can help me. Thanks in advance!

Derek

Are you trying to access these movies on an iMac with Lion using SMB?

Yeah you have to use AFP since Lion. and shocks? If you mean stutters then I found this using AFP so I use SMB but to a NAS storage device. Means don't have to have iMac on all the time either.

I was having the exact same issue and I just resolved it by changing the file permissions from ro to rw for all the media on my nas, I don't understand why eden needs write access to play these files but it resolved the issue for me.

worth trying anyway, or just turn debugging on and look at your log to see if it mentions file permission errors like mine did.

Good luck
