Hello I'm a newbie to this forum so apologies if I have posted incorrectly or in the wrong section…
Im looking to build a server to support my media needs with 1 laptop 2x media pcs and an ipad 2 all running xmbc at the moment.
I have a budget of up to £2k.
I have been scouring the web reading info about WHS/unraid and can't find a solution that I know will be capable of my requirements:
Server requirements:
Storage starting at anything from 9tb but expandable to 30tb+
Some redundancy (unraid or raid parity)
Low power usage
Capable of doing the following CONCURENTLY:
Stream 2x 1080p movies (mkv's 14gb ish)
Download at high speeds (5.6mb/s is my average) running sabnzbd,sickbead and couchpotatoe
Repair/extract/delete my downloads
And not as important Convert video e.g videos into h264 format for blackberry playbook
Is this possible? What sort of components (specifically cpu) would be required? Is this feasible with Unraid/raid5?
